Dialysa, LLC was founded in 2007 to provide analytical services (LAL and Plate Count Analysis) as well as Chemistry support for Dialysis facilities in accordance AAMI (The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) protocol. The Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) test is based on the quantitative kinetic assay for the detection of Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin. The Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC) test is formerly known as the standard plate count and is used for estimating the number of live heterotrophic bacteria in water samples. Our competent professionals have decades of experience in routine microbiological analysis, special microbiology, research microbiology, and a variety of other microbiological testing.

Mrs. Lilia Shtarkman has over 25 years of laboratory testing and chemical industry experience as a chemist, QA/AC officer, Vice President of Operations and President of an Environmental Company. Before founding Dilaysa, LLC Mrs. Shtarkman was a Vice President of Operations at American Testing Company, Inc. Previously Mrs. Shtarkman was a President and CEO of EnviroTest, Inc. She is responsible for day-to-day operations, strategic and marketing planning, competition and market analysis, and direct contact with established and prospective customers. From 1990-1992 Mrs. Shtarkman was a Chemist at Biological Environmental Control Laboratories, Inc. Mrs. Shtarkman received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Ukrainian Institute of Technology, Kiev, Ukraine in 1977, had special training at the American Analytical Training Center in 1990, and completed Business Administration classes at Cuyahoga Community College in 1992.
Tom Pucci joined Dialysa in December 2016. He has a background in research, quality assurance and microbial testing of environmental and food samples. He has also worked in environmental consulting and has several publications in insect taxonomy and ecology. He holds position as a Laboratory Director. Mr. Pucci is responsible for day to day management of the laboratory utilizing his knowledge and experience in microbiological testing and data analysis. He attained a BS in Biology from Eastern Michigan University and an MS in Entomology from the University of Kentucky.
Jim Puffenberger has over 29 years of experience in the medical device, medical imaging, and pharmaceutical industries. He holds the position of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and is responsible for developing worldwide commercial markets. Early in his career, Mr. Puffenberger held various sales and marketing positions with Johnson & Johnson and with Baxter International (Dialysis Division). For nearly sixteen years he led various business units within Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL), a Seattle based, leading manufacturer of diagnostic medical imaging equipment, now wholly owned by Philips Electronics. While with ATL/Philips, Mr. Puffenberger served as the Vice President of Sales for a $120 million business unit and successfully designed its integration into the Philips organization. He had added responsibility for developing the sales, marketing, and distribution activities of Philips Canada and created strategies for its new product introduction. Mr. Puffenberger was twice recognized as the manager of the year, among other honors, with ATL and Philips in North America and has acted in an advisory role for various medical device companies and as President of a start-up medical device company. Mr. Puffenberger holds a degree in Zoology and Chemistry from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and an MBA with Distinction from Tiffin University. He resides in Bratenahl, Ohio.
